Client Initiated Contributions

Clients can submit contributions on behalf of their members. Depending on the account type, there are a variety of different use cases. Some of the most common are:

  • Payroll Contributions: Members will often elect to have contributions made directly out of their payroll. For HSAs this can be particularly useful as it allows for maximum tax benefits.

  • Employer Contributions: With HSAs, it’s common for employers to elect to match employee contributions to up to a designated amount, similar to 401k contributions.

  • Incentive Contributions: A growing number of employers have begun using financial incentives to promote activities, including health-specific activities. These incentive contributions can be made into a standard bank account or a member’s HSA.

Client Contributions can be initiated in two ways:

  1. Client-directed requests to the Lynx API
  2. Client batch file
