Issuance & Activation

For clients that are offering cards to their members, a card will be created and issued to members automatically as part of the member account enrollment process. Cards are created in the primary member’s name and shipped to the primary address associated with their account.

There are two ways members can activate their cards:

  • IVR: A dedicated phone number for card activation is printed on a sticker that is adhered to cards prior to mailing. This phone number is only used for card activation.

  • API: Lynx provides a card activation API that you can leverage in conjunction with a data security platform interface (we recommend Very Good Security) to allow your members to activate their cards while still avoiding PCI data

Once your members have activated their card, the card status will appear as active, showing the card is ready to be used for spending. The Lynx virtual cards do not require activation and are designated as active when they are issued.
